More About Your Aussie Guide
G'day! I'm Paul and I'm your Aussie Guide in Israel.
Allow me to tell you a bit about myself and my love for guiding.
I visited Israel for the first time at age 15, in 1988. From the moment I arrived, I knew, right there and then, that Israel was where I would end up living.
I've now spent over 20 years of my life in Israel and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where I was part of the Zionist Youth Group scene. I spent my vacations at camps, attended seminars and visited Israel on numerous leadership programs over the years. These early experiences enabled me to impart my vast knowledge of everything Israel to my tourists, in an informal, experiential and fun manner, no matter what one’s age or background.
Before I became a Licensed Guide, I worked in many different fields over the years, but the one thing I did the most was in the restaurant and catering business. I worked for over 25 years in the industry and through the years I've worked in 4 countries, across 4 continents and held every position possible including owning my own catering business.
My experience in the food industry and 15 years of living in Jerusalem also makes for a tasty and fun shuk tour through Machaneh Yehuda.
At the age of 39, I set out to change my career. Being a tour guide in Israel was always a dream, but now I had the chance to turn it into a reality.
Today I'm ecstatic to say that I'm living that dream and absolutely love what I do. I feel truly blessed and privileged to be able to do what I love.
Guiding brings out my passion for Israel, in an entertaining, informative way and I make Israel’s rich history come alive!
By being on location with you, I can share the events of the past, tie them to the present and do my part to help build a better future.
I have 3 simple rules when I guide:
Don't get injured!
Have an amazing time!
If you remember any of the information you learned, that's a bonus.
Your safety is my top priority! I will never take you anywhere that could be a security risk, dangerous or threatening.
All Licensed tour guides in Israel must pass a first aid course to receive certification. This I have done multiple times.
I am also a licensed Commercial driver ('Eshkol' license type). This drivers license permits me to legally drive you as well.
I am completely insured as a guide and a driver for all and any incident.
If you're still reading this then you must be very interested in hiring me!
The only thing left to do now is Contact me and book your next tour to travel all over the country side...
